About
Hello!! I’m Muriel Yeboah, proud owner of Midlothian Kids Academy. I have a double Master’s degree in Geography and Business Administration as well as a Ph.D in Geography. I am an educationist who taught from middle through tertiary institutions for over two decades. My husband John is a physician and has been serving the Richmond/Chesterfield community for over 12 years. We have lived in Midlothian, Chesterfield for over 12 years and now calls it home. From our own experience as working parents, my husband and I know how difficult it can be to find quality childcare that works for both parents and children. It is out of this experience that Midlothian Kids Academy came into existence. We have five children of our own in different generation groups from eight to thirty years.
Having grown up in different parts of the world and being exposed to different cultures and education systems, we feel strongly about the values and outcomes of a solid foundation for our children’s generation. There is more to education than just the academics, and we firmly believe in extending such opportunities within the community of Midlothian and Chesterfield. As such the Midlothian Kids Academy is committed to delivering a high quality experience to prepare your children for a bright and a prosperous future. We look forward to meeting with and welcoming you to the Midlothian Kids Academy family!
My name is Myrlin Young, the director at Midlothian Kids Academy. I have been working with children for over 20 years as a mentor and coach, and several years in childcare management. In addition, I have owned and operated a childcare center for five years before relocating to the Virginia; since relocation, I have held several positions within the childcare industries; as a multi-classroom teacher and assistant director, I have worked with all age groups from infant to school age, providing a nurturing, caring and safe environment.
Prior to returning to the childcare industry full-time, I launched Next Level Association Management & Events in 2011. In 2014, expanded Next Level to encompass numerous additional services including, but not limited to career development, association management and grant writing.
I have a bachelor’s in Business Administration from East Poly Tech University and Master’s in Legal Studies from Washington-U School of Law, and I am currently pursuing my Early Childhood Education certification.
I am a mother of two children and 4 grandchildren and a quality education has always been a top-priority within our family.
I am proud to be a part of a program that is focused on not only education but also provides a nurturing and safe environment for the children entrusted in our care. As well as building relationships with families that will support the foundation of a child’s desire to be lifelong learners. I am devoted to the enrichment and growth, and safety of our children and staff, and look forward to bringing my years of experience in management to this amazing learning environment. I believe that Midlothian Kids Academy is a special place to work and an amazing place to learn.
